Great Success: M.A.Y. Fair 2017!

Woodlands Garden is getting ready to host M.A.Y. (Music, Art, & Youth) Fair on Saturday, May 13 between 11 am and 2 pm.

The annual event celebrates  our community’s young talent, allowing young artists (grades 2 to 12) to sell their own artwork and crafts at booths set up on the Garden lawn. We have limited booth space available so complete your online application here & pay registration fee ($10) here to save a spot!

Young musicians will also give musical performances (vocal and instrumental) in our Pavilion. See more photos of the 2016 M.A.Y. Fair on Facebook.

Special thanks to our sponsors: Emory Alliance Credit Union, Colorwheel Studio, and Kaleidoscope Studios

This event is free to the public and will take place rain or shine. Contact Kate Baltzell at director@woodlandsgarden.org to ask about reserving booths, sponsoring the event, or any other M.A.Y. Fair information.

Friends of the Garden

Come Volunteer

There are many ways to get involved with Woodlands Garden!

We work with over 300 volunteers each year of all ages. These volunteers assist us with activities ranging from invasive plant removal to installing new gardens…. Volunteers also help us with many non-horticulture tasks like hosting public events like Music in the Garden on Sundays, data entry of email addresses, and all types of office tasks. If you are interested in volunteering at Woodlands we would love to find the right task for you!

There are many ways to be part of the beauty and excitement of Woodlands Garden, from office work to gardening to hosting. Please complete this online application. We’d appreciate your help in any way you’re interested in giving back.

‘Thank you’ for GA Gives Day

This is the first year Woodlands Garden has reached our Georgia Gives Day goal – and it’s all thanks to you and your continued support for this greenspace!

We started off our GA Gives Day 2016 campaign with a goal of $5,000 and ended the day with a collective contribution of $5,366. We are thankful to each of you that stopped by to make a donation, and to those that helped spread the word about the work we do here. All donations will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of this public garden in Decatur. Though it’s getting nippy out there, the sun still filters in through our Fall-colored canopy. So come by for a stroll through our woods or take in the sunshine on our lawns and enjoy the wonderful space that you have helped us preserve.

If you missed GA Gives Day 2016, but will still like to support the Garden please visit our online donation page here.
