Prior to becoming Woodlands Garden Manager in January 2020, Julia was a GIS analyst at the CDC making maps to assist scientists and researchers. She volunteered at the Atlanta BeltLine’s Aluma Farms, Global Growers at Bamboo Creek Farm, and Truly Living Well Center for Urban Agriculture. She was employed as the kitchen gardener at Stone Mountain Park, an interior plant horticulturist at Lenox Square Mall, and a Horticultural Therapy Internist at the Cheyenne Botanical Garden in Wyoming. Before joining the Garden as a staff person in August 2015, Kate learned firsthand about the workings of Woodlands while on the Board.  She worked as the Adult Education Manager at Trees Atlanta after graduating from the Longwood Graduate Program with the University of Delaware.  Kate is thrilled to be back in the public garden world and learning as much as she can about this hidden gem full of native beauties!  Come visit soon and get her out of the office often…
