Relational Forest Therapy

March 7 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Click to register. We invite you to join us for Relational Forest Therapy groups to access the abundant, evidence-based benefits which nature provides to lower stress; improve physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing; and find connection to ourselves and each other. Leigh Scott, a certified Forest Therapy Guide and Associate Professional Counselor is offering these groups for adults and teens (15+) through Gaia Counseling, and in collaboration with Woodlands Gardens, once monthly between February and May of 2026.

Informed by Relational Cultural Theory and the Japanese Shinrin Yoku, Relational Forest Therapy offers a structured way to access your body’s reciprocal relationship with nature. Evidence shows that nature offers innumerable cues to our nervous systems to help us relax and heal, but many of us do not know how to receive these benefits. These groups provide a gentle, guided experience to relax what disconnects us, and tune in to what our bodies already know about connecting to each other and the natural environment. The experience is simple, trauma-informed, and invitational.

This is not exercise, and it’s not an educational walk. This is time deliberately held and guided to experience a different way of listening, knowing, and connecting. There’s no right or wrong way to do this because nature holds every way of being. Come as you are, the forest has your back. Registration is required.
